RAMIRO CHAVES (1979) was born in Cordoba, Argentina, where he finished his film/TV and still photography studies.

Since 2002, he has been living in México City. Ramiro seeks to expand his experience and knowledge as photographer, reason behind his constant participation in workshops with distinguished photographers such as Martín Parr, Stefan Ruiz and Chris Boot amongst others. In 2004, he was selected for the 11th Photography Biennial in the Centro de la Imagen, México.

His work has been shown internationally as well as in Mexico. In 2006 he had his first individual exhibit “Proyecto CANADA” at the Carrillo Gil Art Museum. Also, in 2006, Ramiro Chaves published his first book entitled "Domingos" by Editorial Diamantina. His work is part of many mexican and international private collections.

Ramiro has collaborated with different publications and magazines such as Vice, Spin, Celeste, Gatopardo, Arquine, Codigo 06140, Esete and Picnic, in which he was photo editor.

In 2007, he started teaching photography in different Mexican institutions.

Ramiro Chaves is represented by Galería 13.
